What is md5 hash generator?

MD5 produces a 128-bit digest of text or a file. It is a legacy checksum, not a password hash.

How to use it

  1. Paste text or drop a file.
  2. MD5 is computed locally.
  3. Copy the hex digest.

When to use it

Some publishers still publish MD5 sums. Computing them locally matches the file you actually have.

Notes

Prefer SHA-256 for new integrity checks. MD5 is collision-prone and must not store passwords.
