Software should do exactly what you asked — and nothing else. We build browser utilities that run as local, deterministic code. No accounts. No uploads. No model in the loop. Your files stay in the tab you opened.

The shift

The modern web treats a file as a lead. Converters ask for an email. “Free” editors send your PDF to a farm you never chose. Formatters wrap a model around a problem that was already a short algorithm. The product is not the tool. The product is the document you were told to drop in the box.

That architecture has three defaults we refuse:

• Identity first. You cannot split a PDF until you exist in someone else’s CRM.
• Upload first. Bytes leave the device so a server can “help.” Help is optional. The transfer is not.
• Inference first. When the output is a guess, you cannot prove what happened to a contract, a dump, or a customer export.

Utilities are not a content problem. They are a control-flow problem. Compression, encoding, hashing, parsing, and layout are functions. Functions have inputs, outputs, and no opinion. If you cannot put NDA material on someone else’s disk — or you are done with a chat box on every surface — that is a data-sovereignty requirement, not a mood.

Our architecture

toolswithoutai.com is a static front end plus JavaScript that executes in your browser’s engine. A file is read with the File API. Transformation happens in memory — Canvas, WebAssembly, pdf-lib, Web Crypto, parsers. The download is a blob you save locally. The origin never receives the payload.

Pipelines are deterministic: same bytes in, same bytes out. A JSON formatter pretty-prints or it errors. A checksum is crypto.subtle.digest, not a summary. We do not stream documents for “quality,” and we do not retain file contents. Connectivity is for loading the page, not for processing the file. Open a tool, disconnect the network, finish the job.

We are not against machine learning as a field. We are against nondeterminism where the job is encoding, redaction, merge, split, or math. Generative systems belong in a different product, with a different threat model. This site is the other product.

The three pillars

• Zero server uploads. Files and pasted text are processed client-side. Corporate decks, source maps, and signed PDFs do not become someone else’s ticket queue. Safe for NDAs because the bytes never leave the device.
• Zero AI guesswork. No model, no prompt, no “close enough.” Output is the algorithm you invoked. Predictability is the feature.
• Zero data retention. We cannot lose what we never stored. There is no document locker and no delayed deletion policy. Close the tab; the working set is gone with it.

The same contract on every page: local processing, deterministic results, no file on our disk. Use the tool. Keep the data.

How the site is funded

Tools are free. The site is supported by advertising. Ads are not wired yet; placeholders reserve space so layout stays stable when they are added.
